F-Prot installs fine, but still won't do real-time monitoring. I suspect there is a problem with permissions for av's that do real-time monitoring (and why would you want one that didn't?) because the user Administrator isn't really Administrator. I played around with permissions in the file system and the registry, but that didn't help.
Oh well. Possibly turning of UAP would change that, but I've tried to keep the Vista installs as close to what a "regular" user would get and turning off UAP isn't part of that scenario.

FYI - F-Prot on 5308

If and when I get the latest build downloaded, I'll try this out also Malke. Including the disabling UAP portion.
And, it's nice to see you're testing Vista. You've definitely earned my respect in the Security newsgroups...

Thanks, Patrick. Coming from you that is high praise and most appreciated. I admire your work, also. FWIW, I've got the latest build installed now (5342) but haven't tried F-Prot on it. I think someone said that AVG works but I haven't played around with it yet. I'm waiting for the activation issue to get resolved first.
